Since 1984 IVS has been your dependable partner for technical and industrial insulation. We combine thermal, cold, fire protection and acoustic insulation as well as PUR high-pressure foaming under one roof: that saves interfaces, coordination and time.
From a small maintenance job to insulating a complete installation: our well-practised installation teams work reliably during ongoing operation and deliver clean, standard-compliant results. Based in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, on site throughout Germany as well as in Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria.

Cold insulation
Closed-cell insulation systems to DIN 4140 for low-temperature applications from −60 °C. Condensation prevention on brine, glycol and R717 ammonia lines with stainless steel cladding in V2A or V4A.

Thermal insulation
Thermal insulation for pipework, vessels and technical installations. Insulation material, insulation thickness and metal cladding are matched to temperature, environment and occupational safety on a project-by-project basis.

Fire protection insulation
Certified F30 to F120 claddings with Hilti CFS and ISOVER systems. Fire wall penetrations, cable penetration seals and bulkheads with test certificate and a documented position in the building plan.

Acoustic insulation
Frequency-appropriate sound insulation on units, pumps and pipe runs, source analysis, machine enclosures and silencer design. Frequently combined with thermal or cold insulation.

Cold insulation for industrial installations
Technical cold insulation is used wherever medium temperatures are below the ambient temperature, from cooling lines in food production through to cold stores and large refrigeration plants. A properly calculated insulation thickness prevents condensation, reliably protects installations against corrosion and reduces refrigeration energy losses to a minimum.
We insulate pipework, vessels, tanks and complete refrigeration plants according to the requirements of your industry, including hygienic execution in V2A/V4A stainless steel. This stainless steel prefabrication has been a standard competence of ours since 2014, with a dedicated production hall for formed parts made of certified food-grade stainless steel.
Our clients in this field include plant engineering companies, beverage and dairy processing operations, fish, meat and potato processors, ice producers, industrial bakeries and the central warehouses of retail chains. More than 35 years of professional experience in cold insulation: this has been our core speciality since the company was founded.
Thermal insulation & heat insulation in plant engineering

Fire protection insulation for pipework and penetrations
With certified fire protection systems we make sure that fire and smoke cannot spread further in industrial installations. The focus of our work is on fire wall penetrations and fire wall crossings for insulated and uninsulated pipework as well as cable penetrations — the critical weak points of many installations.
Fire protection requirements are complex and cover all areas of daily life. Trained staff implement the applicable fire protection regulations and the state-specific requirements professionally for you, from planning through material selection to the structural detail.
We advise you on choosing the right insulation materials and the structural details, because only the greatest care provides the necessary protection in this field. Acoustic insulation & enclosures for installations
Acoustic measures reduce sound transmission from the source to the receiver and thus protect health and productivity. Noise damages health and reduces efficiency and readiness in production; even low exposure leads to health problems in the long run or makes working on an installation impossible.
Our field of work covers the sound-insulating design of pipework (often the real sound amplifiers in an installation) as well as enclosures for machines and plant components with silencers and acoustic barriers. We use optimal insulating materials with the corresponding cladding systems.
We treat every project as an individual solution, because the acoustic requirements differ from installation to installation. The demands on protection against noise keep growing; with solutions directly at the workplace and at the noisy components we make a substantial contribution to health and environmental protection in the plant.
PUR foaming & polyurethane high-pressure foaming
PUR high-pressure foaming has been one of our core competences since 1990 and is a central building block in modern cold insulation. Polyurethane foam offers the highest insulating performance at minimal layer thickness and is the right choice wherever installation space is limited and thermal efficiency is decisive.
We use PUR high-pressure pour foaming for closed cavities between the inner and outer shell. Mobile high-pressure foaming units allow us to work directly on site at the customer’s premises.
Typical applications are the PUR foaming of vessels, pipework systems and sheet metal structures on operating installations. Historically our PUR experience grew in the food processing industry and on cold insulation aboard fishing trawlers and cruise liners; today it is a standard in industrial refrigeration applications.
Planning, surveying & project support as a stand-alone service
A project is only as good as its planning. We take on the project planning, the on-site survey and the complete project support for you, from the first consultation to commissioning — on request also without subsequent execution by IVS. Many of our clients use our planning expertise independently of the installation work.
Our execution follows the project-specific requirements as well as the technical rules relevant to the respective insulation system and application. We agree the insulation material, insulation thickness, cladding and interfaces with the client before implementation.
With our mobile surveying system our staff transfer the recorded data directly from the site to our prefabrication machines. Working in real time shortens process times considerably, lets us react flexibly to changes or material deliveries and secures the on-time completion of your project.

IVS delivers the four classic areas of technical insulation (cold, thermal, fire protection and acoustic insulation) as well as PUR high-pressure foaming as a complementary high-performance insulation. All services from a single source, with our own prefabrication in two production halls and, since 2014, with V2A/V4A stainless steel processing for the food industry.
Costs depend on the size of the installation, the insulation material, the cladding material, the fire protection class and time pressure: there are no flat-rate prices. After a free on-site inspection and survey we prepare a detailed quotation. In most cases the investment pays for itself within a few years through the energy costs saved.
Thermal insulation wherever heat has to be retained (superheated steam, baking ovens, heat exchangers); cold insulation on cold media (cold stores, refrigerant lines, brewhouses); fire protection insulation on steel structures and penetrations with an F30/F60/F90 requirement; acoustic insulation on noisy units and filling lines. Where requirements are combined, we combine the systems.
Yes. A large part of our projects is carried out during ongoing operation, from heating plant refurbishments to hygienic cold insulation in 24/7 food production. Downtime is avoided or limited to the necessary minimum; we strictly observe safety and hygiene requirements.
F90 means 90 minutes of fire resistance for load-bearing components. We clad steel structures with certified fire protection boards or plaster systems to DIN 4102 / EN 13501, usually on a calcium silicate or mineral wool basis. Professional execution is documented without gaps and is a prerequisite for building acceptance and insurance cover.
PUR high-pressure foaming is the right choice when maximum insulating performance is required at minimal layer thickness, for example for container insulation, closed cavities, solar storage circuits or in shipbuilding. Unlike mineral wool, the foam adheres without gaps, forms its own vapour barrier and needs no additional cladding. IVS has been working with PUR since 1990.

We rely exclusively on certified special insulating materials and resilient insulation systems that are perfectly matched to the requirements of modern building services and industrial installations.
