Three IVS employees showing a student the build-up of cold insulation during a taster day in the Malchin workshop

Blog: expertise from 40 years of industrial insulation

Company news, practical articles and field reports from over 40 years of technical insulation. From the workshop of a family business in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: specialised in thermal, cold, fire protection and acoustic insulation since 1984.

Expertise from practice: the IVS blog at a glance

On this page we collect the articles we would want to read ourselves as a specialist contractor for industrial insulation: concrete project experience, technical notes from the workshop, background on materials and standards, personnel stories from the company and our involvement in the region. It is deliberately not a classic marketing blog: you will find fewer adjectives here and more facts, figures, before-and-after images and honest assessments from the daily work on our customers’ sites.

IVS Isoliertechnik & Verschäumung Reinhard Swienty GmbH has existed since 1984, is based in Malchin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and works on sites throughout Germany — from food production plants in the north, through breweries in Bavaria, to large bakeries in the Rhineland. What we experience on site and develop in the workshop flows back into readable form here. Responsibility for the content lies with the management and our site and project managers, supported by our apprentices, who regularly contribute articles of their own.

What we write about

Field reports from projects: cold insulation in frozen-food logistics, thermal insulation in breweries, fire protection on industrial baking lines, acoustic protection on compressors and combined heat and power plants. Notes on materials and workmanship covering new insulation materials, cladding sheet fabrication and PUR foaming in everyday workshop practice. Standards, regulations and AGI work sheets explained in plain terms, with a concrete link to the site and to the requirements of the German EnEV and GEG energy regulations. Topics around training, new colleagues, taster days and journeyman’s examinations. And notes on our regional involvement: sponsorship, club work and local initiatives in the Mecklenburg Lake District.

Who the articles are for

Planners and plant engineers who buy insulation services and are looking for a reliable partner. Managing directors and technical managers in food production, breweries, frozen-food logistics and the chemical industry. Energy and sustainability officers who want to reduce heat losses, CO₂ emissions and operating costs. Vocational students, apprentices and career starters who want to know what the WKSB insulator trade looks like in practice. And customers, neighbours and applicants who want to get to know us before we work together.

How we choose topics

An article usually comes about when a project has produced a lesson, a moment of insight or a solution that can be documented cleanly. We do not write about advertising claims, but about the things we would look up again ourselves. Some articles are short workshop notes, others are detailed case studies with figures, sections and material specifications. Everything published here has been proofread in the company — by a journeyman, a site manager or the owner himself — and reflects our honest assessment.
