A WKSB insulator carries out the professional installation of insulation materials in the field of thermal, cold, acoustic and fire protection. The work is varied and wide-ranging. We are looking for experienced professionals with completed vocational training and solid professional experience to strengthen our team at IVS in Malchin — assignments throughout Germany included.
The job of a thermal, cold, acoustic and fire protection insulator is considerably more varied than the name suggests. At its core it is about giving technical installations the right insulation, so that energy is not lost, temperatures stay stable, noise is damped or a fire cannot spread. Insulators work in industrial plants, food operations, breweries, hospitals, cold stores and chemical works — everywhere pipework, vessels or machines place particular demands on heat management. The job combines manual skill with technical understanding: cutting mineral wool to size, folding stainless steel sheet, installing fire penetration seal systems, taking measurements.
Anyone interested in the job should enjoy practical work, have no fear of heights and be able to work safely in confined spaces too. The reward is real variety: no two days are the same, and you see the result immediately. There are only around 7,500 trained WKSB insulators in Germany, while demand in industry keeps growing. Anyone who masters the trade can later move towards foreman, site manager or master craftsman: the paths for advancement are clearly mapped out, particularly in family-run companies.
At IVS, insulators work on an unusually broad range of projects: a brewery calls for different solutions than a deep-freeze logistics centre, a biogas plant different ones than a chemical plant. It is exactly this breadth that keeps the job interesting in the long run and is why many colleagues have been with our family company for more than fifteen years. Anyone who thinks practically, is technically interested and enjoys working in a team will find a job with a future here, with clear opportunities for advancement and in an industry that is urgently looking for qualified specialists in Germany.
